TopAfricMusicVideo: Can You please tell our readers your real name as well as your stage name?

DONDI: “Dondi” is my stage name. It also happens to be my real name.

TopAfricMusicVideo: Where are you from and Where were you born?

DONDI: I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa

TopAfricMusicVideo: At What age did you start making music?

DONDI: I started writing songs in my 20’s, but didn’t start recording until years later.

TopAfricMusicVideo: What genre of music do you particularly love? Jazz? Hip-Hop? RnB?


TopAfricMusicVideo:  Who is your favourite artist and why?

DONDI:  I love Luther Vandross because his voice was like silk, and his music is timeless!

TopAfricMusicVideo:  What are your hobbies?

DONDI:  Shoe shopping with my better half!

TopAfricMusicVideo: Do you play any musical instrument?

DONDI: I play the drums and a little keyboard. I’m not proficient in either.

TopAfricMusicVideo: Where do you get your musical inspiration?

DONDI: My mother. She had a great voice.

TopAfricMusicVideo: Who is your hero?

DONDI:  My hero changes to fit my life. Right now, it’s my better half’s father.

TopAfricMusicVideo: Do you write your own music?

DONDI: Yes I do.

TopAfricMusicVideo: If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?

DONDI: Jill Scott.

Coming up, I’m flying to L.A to do a couple singles with Buck 22. Damon Elliott. We’re gonna cover one of his mother’s songs. His mom is Dionne Warwick. Which song? It’s a surprise. We’ll also be collaborating with Recording Artist/Songwriter Cindy Valentine on an original track. We’ll be shooting a music video with Riz Story that week as well. So, I’m very excited about what’s coming up for me. Stay tuned… Lots of good stuff happening!!!
