When you listen to this Slick San Diego native’s style, you cant help but to hear Snoop Dog, E40 and even 90’s Heavy D. No wonder he goes by the name “Fly Ty” because he is definitely fly. He dropped by and gave us an exclusive interview so chill, relax and read what he had to say.
Q: Can You please tell our readers your real name as well as your stage name?
A: My real name is Tushunda, but everybody knows me as Fly Ty.
Q: Where are you from and Where were you based?
A: I am from San Diego, California; that’s still my home base mane. I’m just a SoCal dude
Q: At What age did you start making music?
A: I was about 11 years old when I saw the movie: “Five Heart Beats”. The next day, I went to school and put together a group called ‘Triple C ‘ (Cold Cash Crew )
Q: What genre of music do you particularly love? Jazz? Hip-Hop? RnB?
A: I like all music, but my go-to genres are: hip hop, jazz, and soul.
Q: Tell us about your latest track ( what is it all about)
A:The name of the track is: “City Slicka”. It’s inspired by the traveling I have done this last year. The song is about staying moving, trying to come up, or as I say in the track “goose”.
Q: Who wrote it? And where can the fans get it?
A: I wrote the song and the beat was produced by my boy, Kewleyb. Shots out to Kewleyb, the beat go hard! City Slicka is available on all streaming sites including iTunes, Amazon Music, Google Play, Tidal, SoundCloud, Spotify, and Youtube. I’m everywhere!
Q: Where do you get your musical inspiration?
A: I’m from the bottom, mane. My inspiration comes from what I have seen done and felt on this journey called life. I also find inspiration from those that did it before me: Snoop Dogg, Mac Dre, Tupac, N.W.A., Biggie, Big Pun; I can go on and on for days!

Q: What inspired you to write this new track
I actually wrote the hook while I was on a plane to Portland for the 420 festivities . The song was inspired by doing it movin and high thoughts. lol
Q: If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
A: If I could share the stage with anyone in the game right now, I would have to say E40. He has been someone I have looked up to and tried to model my career after. He is a real inspiration to me.
