A song writer with a broken heart who seems to be struggling with some bad habits that he simply cant change
I listened to “Mrs Whats His Name” five consecutive times and each time i felt different emotions. Sympathy, Anger, Disgust, Sorrow, and Love.
This is a single from the the Album “The Red Wheelbarrow” by Country ARTIST: Bobbo Byrnes
You could feel that Bobbo was singing about something really personal in this track. A song writer with a broken heart who seems to be struggling with some bad habits that he simply cant change.
This song seems to be directed to someone dear in the singers life and he seems to be apologizing for his atrocities but yet keeps repeating them.
That is something we all can relate to. A man cheats on his wife and apologizes but he later goes back to his old ways. A drunk attends AA meeting and vows never to drink again but the bottle just keeps winning the battle. A drug addict trying everyday to stop the habit but ends up still feening for the needle.
So you can see why I felt all these emotions. You sympathize with the people and the situations but yet you are disgusted and it makes you angry that no matter the sorrow or pain they cause you simply cant stop loving them.
Bobbo did a wonderful job with this song. I mean the country guitar chords are really simple because he focused more on the lyrics rather than the melody of the music. The melody and music were very well organized and the rhythm is offcourse country but pretty danceable rhythm if you wish to dance to it.
The only issue I had was the video. The visuals simply was lacking. It shows the musician in different scenes and different parts of the world with just his guitar. Bobbo, we understand that you love your guitar but not everyone else out there wants to watch you play a guitar all day. Its plain old boring!
I would have loved to see some really good acting from different people showing the message he was trying to convey. But then again, dont forget that Bobbbo aint no good. So I could be wrong as to what message he was trying to convey but this was the message I could gather from listening and watching “Mrs Whats His Name” .
