“MTStreets” is Alpha, with “Bourbon Street”

Mark Thomas Rhodes, also known as “MTStreets”, is an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He is generally known for his thought provoking vocal style. He is also dynamically creative and possesses the ability to blend a range of genres including hip-hop, R&B, pop and rap.

His new single, “Bourbon Street” is a delight to listen to as its enthralling qualities makes it one you would always want to listen to.

In the song, MTStreets sings about getting away from trouble and pressure from “girls”. He also sings about keeping hope while rising from the internal battles in his mind, prescription drugs and other people’s ill thoughts and bluffs.

The sound is a suave and smooth blend of R&B and hip-hop that continues to resonates in your ears due to its cool and unique vibes. The selection of acoustic guitars and percussions makes it all the more soothing, effectively preceding the hook and giving the song the platform and background for MTStreet’s august and awe-inspiring vocals. You would also notice that the guitars and other instrumentals tailed off the song in a similar fashion to its beginning, thus completing a perfect cycle of its rhythm. The beats are phenomenal and a repertoire of hard work and professionalism, thus giving the song its overall musical shape. The transitions between the hook, verses and chorus are a bit tricky but he was able to execute them without hitches and effortlessly too. Throughout the song, the lyrics of the song reflected the main theme of the song and is brought home in the chorus, revealing the influence of renowned pop star, “The Weeknd”.  Despite his influence, “MTStreets” was able to “hold his own” and pull off the song with pinches of his own unique style. Overall, the production quality is high. “MTStreets” deserves to be mentioned in any conversation of hip hop, R&B and rap musc.
