Ed Sheeran extends his record-breaking chart reign into a 15th week on Australia’s singles survey with “Shape Of You” (Asylum/Warner) as Divide clocks up an eighth week atop the albums chart.
The quadruple-platinum certified “Shape Of You” already smashed the 13-week streak set by Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise,” a record which stood for 22 years. Sheeran also boasts the week’s second-most-popular song Down Under with “Galway Girl” (it’s up one place), while Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble” (Interscope/Universal) dips 3-2 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Clean Bandit’s U.K. chart-topping single “Symphony” (EastWest/Warner) featuring Zara Larsson rises 6-4 to earn the British electro-pop trio their third top 5 single.
Also this week, The Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s “Something Just Like This” (Columbia/Sony) slips 4-5, while Canadian pop singer Shawn Mendes has the week’s highest debut with “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” (Island/Universal), new at No. 8.
