In Two Minds new single, titled “Crooked Crown” is about being optimistic about what the future holds with indigenous knowledge where land and resources are not just commodities to be exploited or possessed but are regarded as sacred treasures.
Ray Goodwin got most of the writing credits for the song even as he seeks to right the wrongs that were perpetrated in the days of his ancestors by being actively involved with the colored Diggers Memorial. He is also associated for the same course, with the Babana Men’s Group and Ray Minniecon who is an Aboriginal Elder. As the latter can be heard on the “intro” of the track saying ‘All have the same blood surging through our veins, all called to steward, to care for sacred space’. This basically is a clarion call to service for all.
The lyrics encapsulates and reflects the main theme of the song. The fine baritone vocals occasionally dishes a higher pitch, light hearted tenor as it tails off. The song’s mid-range tempo might just be slightly faster than a ballad. The drum beats and the piano sounds are well orchestrated as they give the song its calm soothing feel while reminding all of their responsibility to one another. This track is a finely knit one and its relaxing vibe can be enjoyed at any time. Enough credits should go to the band for this work
